What is there to do out here?
Well, I’m so glad you asked. It may seem like you’re in the middle of nowhere but you’re only a few miles from an awesome little town called Round Top which is full of art shops, boutiques and antiques. Here are some of the other fun things to do in our area.
A Distillery, a Meadery, and a couple of Wineries!
Kooper Family Distillery – less that 3 miles from our ranch is a wonderful whiskey maker. Stop in and get a tasting and take home some amazing, small batch whiskey.
Rohan Meadery – less than 10 miles from us this one of a kind facility produces Mead (the oldest fermented beverage known to mankind), Wine and ciders. Mention you’re staying at Night Bird Ranch and get a discount on your tasting. I really love the Round Top Red, a Mead/Wine combo!
Blue Mule Winery – just a few miles down the road this winery has a great selection of reds and whites and lots of one of a kind creations knitted from yard made by the winemakers.
Junk Gypsy World Headquarters – A must see on any visit to Round Top, Amie and Jolie Sikes’ store is a delight. They brought us great make overs on HGTV and Great American Country and now you can bring a little gypsy soul home with you. Their store is full of sassy cowboy boots, swirly skirts and jingly jewelry.
Lark - Custom jewelers and purveyors of antique barware this store in Rummel Square is my absolute favorite place to get gifts.
The Humble Donkey – Full of original art and antiques this store in Henkel Square is a wonderful shop to visit (oh and you can get a free beer while you’re there)
Festival Hill – A world famous music venue tucked into the Texas hills this unique collections of buildings and gardens is a wonderful place to wander and have a picnic. If you can get inside the concert hall you’ll be amazed at its beauty. Better yet, come out for a concert!
Teague’s Tavern- Of course you must visit Teague’s Tavern, and not just because we own it and offer our Ranch guests a 10% discount. We have generous servings of Texas Favs like Chicken Fried Steak and giant hamburgers with Bacon Jam!
Royer’s Pie Shop – Save room for dessert at Royer’s in Henkel Square. For a real Texas treat have them put a scoop of Blue Bell Ice Cream on the side!
